Antonio Vivaldi – Flamboyants concertos avec le guitariste David Jacques
L’Harmonie des saisons will present a flamboyant programme in which guitar, violins, cellos, viola d’amore, lute, and recorder will each be featured soloists with the orchestra.
The concerto remains to this day one of the most beautiful creations of music history. The interplay between one or more soloists and the larger ensemble reveals wonderful varieties of timbres, textures, colours, and contrasts that are ravishing to the ear. Vivaldi, while not the inventor of the form, is the composer who most perfected and elevated it to its highest level all across Europe.
